Community Minibus Trial Provides Welcome Rural Transport Links
A minibus trial funded by Muirhall Energy is investing the need to provide public transport for its rural community. The trial, which has been organised by the Woolfords, Auchengray & Tarbrax Improvement Foundation (WAT IF?) and run by Salmonds Coaches, will run until 19th December and is fully funded by Muirhall Windfarm Extension.
Debbie Bridges, Community Officer for Muirhall Energy said “We are delighted that some of the funds WAT IF? receive from Muirhall are allowing this trial to go ahead. It is a great way to connect the community for those who may otherwise find it difficult”.
The trial is to gauge interest and demand for a service into West Lothian. The bus starts it’s route at Tarbrax, picks up at Auchengray and Woolfords and drops off at West Calder Train Station and finally Livingston Shopping Centre. It then returns a few hours later allowing passengers the choice of getting the fast train to Edinburgh or taking advantage of the shopping, cinema, restaurants and banking facilities in Livingston Centre .
